Multiple Positions in Orthopaedic Research

The Bone and Joint Center at Henry Ford Health System (Detroit, MI) has multiple scientist positions available in orthopaedic research.  Successful applicants will have earned a PhD in biomedical engineering, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.  Successful applicants will join a multidisciplinary team of investigators with complementary research programs examining various aspects of the musculoskeletal system, and will be expected to develop externally funded research programs and establish interdisciplinary research partnerships. The Bone and Joint Center is looking for exceptional individuals with research interests that include genomics/proteomics, cell signaling, osteochondral interface, molecular imaging, bone cancer/metastases, or other areas of musculoskeletal biology.

The Bone and Joint Center has expertise and well-equipped facilities for research in motion analysis, biomechanics, musculoskeletal modeling, computational mechanics, 3D imaging, animal models, cell biology, histology, biochemistry and molecular biology.  Scientists in the Bone and Joint Center have a strong history of collaboration with the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology, Public Health Science, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology at Henry Ford Health System.  Opportunities for additional collaborations are available as a result of the Bone and Joint Center laboratories occupying approximately 15,000 sq ft in Wayne State University’s new $93 million, state-of-the-art Integrative Biosciences Center.  Successful applicants will also have the opportunity for faculty appointments in the College of Engineering or School of Medicine at Wayne State University.

These positions have strong institutional support and will include generous startup packages and salaries that are commensurate with experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research potential, a strong record of productivity, and a desire for multidisciplinary collaborations.  Additional information about the Bone and Joint Center can be found at www.henryfordboneandjointcenter.com.

Applicants should send their CV, a statement of their long-term research goals, and the names and contact information of at least three references to the address below. Consideration of applicants will continue until the position is filled.
